The organization of the Dakar Rally made public the calendar for next year

The responsible for the organization of the famous Dakar Raid Rally (previously Paris-Dakar Rally) has made public the calendar and sites for next year’s edition.

Dakar Rally. In the route scheduled by the organization for next year is included for the first time the Latin American country of Peru in which capital, Lima, the rally will end. 

The participants, coming from all the corners of the world, are expected to cover about 8,363 kilometers crossing three Latin American countries: Argentina, Chile and Peru.

The competition will star on January the first, 2012 in Mar de la Plata, Argentina and those competitors lucky enough to reach the finishing line of this extreme sport competition will be expected in Lima on January, the 15th.

The competition was inaugurated in 1979 covering the distance that separates the capital of France, Paris, from Dakar, in Senegal. From 1995 onwards the Rally started in different European cities ending in different African countries. However, in 2009 the Rally was moved to Latin America after the French authorities warned the organization about the danger of terrorist attacks in the African Continent.
