Apple and editorial houses. The supposed deal between Apple and five large editorial houses is against the European law on anti-monopoly policies. The suspicions raised after some agencies of the European Union conducted a series of unarranged visits to some of the editorial firms involved in the issue: French Hachette Livre, British Penguin, German Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holzbrinck and American Harper Collins and Simon & Schuster.
The responsible for the investigation have declared that the Commission will “treat the case as a priority issue”. This is a step forward in the lawsuit pursued by an American law firm against Apple and the five editorial houses last month of August.
