Global warming. The rhythm of thawing in the Arctic Sea as a consequence of global warming is damaging the environment and the eco-system in the area while it is blamed for bringing to the edge of extinction to some animals that live in the region like the polar bear.
The Hidrometorologic Centre in Russia has warned this week about the real dangers of extinction of the polar bear arguing that in only two decades the mass of the ice in the Arctics has suffered a reduction of around 55 percent.
This situation is threatening the very existence of the polar bear, especially considering that the total number of polar bears is estimated in between 20.000 and 25.000 individuals.
Scientists, therefore, warn about the need to revert this tendency as soon as possible in order to avoid the extinction of the polar bear and other animals that live in this area.
