Balenciaga.- This year the Foundation Getaria, in charge of protecting and expanding the legacy of the legendary Spanish fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga (1895-1972), is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the death of the fashion master.
The tributes to the great fashion designer will multiply during this year with several organizations and foundations, including the Dress Museum in Madrid and the Galleria in Paris, organising a number of exhibitions around the figure of Balenciaga.
The son of dressmaker and a sailor, Balenciaga moved to Paris in 1937 where he developed great part of his professional career, dressing to women like Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn and becoming a master to designers like Christian Dior.
