Blood donations.- One of the oldest football clubs in Brazil, the Vitoria in area of Salvador de Bahia, has taken on board a rather innovative campaign in the world of football. Under the title of “My Blood is Red and Black”, the club has decided to encourage its fans to donate blood by removing the red colour from the team’s shirts (traditionally black and red). The red strips will be gradually added as fans donate blood.
The president of the club, Alexi Portela Jr., firmly believes that the initiative will encourage fans to donate more blood as they will like to see the traditional colours of the club back in the team’s shirts.
On the other hand, one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, the Sao Paulo, has also initiated a blood donation campaign by adding the slogan "Give Blood" on its shirts for a game.
