2012 London Olympics.- The British government has announced the deployment of 1,200 extra soldiers who will be in charge of the security during the 2012 London Olympic Games to be officially inaugurated next 27th of July, although some of the competitions have already started.
In total, the British authorities have diverted more than 18,200 soldiers to the capital of the United Kingdom to make sure that participants and spectators to the biggest sport competition in the world could feel safe during the Games.
The British government had to take this decision when at the beginning of the month the private company hired to take care of the security during the Games, G4S, admitted that it did not have enough staff to guarantee the protection of athletes and visitors.
