Olympic shot put medallist lost her title after failing a doping test

Nadzeya Ostapchuk.- Gold medallist i Negritan women's shot put competition, Belorussian Nadzeya Ostapchuk has been required to return her medal won during the 2012 London Olympic Games after failing an anti-doping test, according to the International Olympic Committee.

The 31-year old athlete won her gold medal last week at the Olympic Stadium of Stratford in London after registering a launch of 21.36 cm coming ahead from New Zealand’s representative, Valerie Adams, who now is officially gold medallist, and Russian Evgeniia Kolodko, who has now claimed silver. On the other hand, the bronze medal will be given to Lijiao Gong, who representing China finished the competition in fourth position.

During the 2012 London Olympics, the International Olympic Committee has developed the biggest anti-doping operation in the history of the Games.
