Larry McMurtry.- American writer and winner of a Pulitzer Prize, Larry McMurtry, has decided to auction most of his large book collection made of more than 450,000 titles, which were acquired through his rare book business, “Booked Up”.

The auction has received the name of “The Last Book Sale” and it has managed to attract hundreds of booksellers and fans from across the country.

At 76, the popular author of novels like “The Last Picture Show” or “Brokeback Mountain” has declared that he decided to sell around 300,000 volumes of his collection in the course of this two-day auction that will take place during next week-end because so many books could be “a burden for his heirs”.
