Fidel Castro.- Today, revolutionary Cuban leader Fidel Castro turns 86 away from the cameras and public life. It is 6 years now that Castro decided to step down as President of the Cuban government naming his younger brother, Raul, as his successor after going through emergency intestinal surgery.
Since then on, things have slightly changed in the Caribbean island and it even seems that the days of Cuban isolation are numbered. However, many Cubans still wait for more changes to come believing that the politics applied by Raul Castro are not enough.
In the meantime, many of the inhabitants of the Caribbean island wonder about their future and the future of the Cuban Revolution which since 1959 has ruled Cubans’ lives.
